Your Village Festival
The Village Festival is designed for you. Some of you may be performing, some running workshops or setting up exhibitions, and some of you have volunteered to help with the daily running of the Festival. Each and every person reading this programme can take part in the Festival and enjoy coming together as a community
From 15th-18th June our Green will again become a tented village offering 4 days of workshops and entertainment. Whether it is trying your hand at various crafts, listening to village musicians, watching a production, visiting an exhibition, taking part in tug-of-war, or simply meeting friends for a drink, there really is something for everyone. There’s even a performance from our very own village belly dancing troupe! On the Thursday/Friday the school will also be involved in a range of exciting workshops including circus skills, gardening and Forest Garden School activities. We have retained some of the most popular events from the last Festival, including the Saturday Fair with Dog Show, the Band Night, a Players’ production and the end of Festival concert. However, we also have plenty of new workshops. There will be a village photographic trail to explore, and on Friday a fun sing-a-long film night where you can dress up. We have also increased the range of food outlets for that moment when you want a change from our delicious burgers.
With National Lottery funding and generous local business support going some way to financing the Festival, events and activities are free.
You will be pleased to know that the popular Festival Bus will be running throughout the event so there really is no excuse not to come. The Festival promises to be a real highlight in this year’s village calendar, so read the programme of events, plan what you want to do, then come down, eat drink and be merry together.
We look forward to seeing you at Festival 17.
