What are the Bishopsteignton Probus clubs?

There are now two Probus clubs in the village.

The original Probus club which is a welcoming club for retired men and those approaching retirement, meeting in a relaxed atmosphere providing fellowship and the perfect opportunity to meet new friends.

We meet together on Tuesday mornings, twice a month, from September to May, in the Bishopsteignton Community Centre, observing any Covid restrictions which may be in place at the time. We organise for a variety of quality and interesting speakers to present in the meetings which normally last about an hour including questions from the audience.

We also have club lunches at Christmas and in June and visits to places of interest. Members’ wives/partners are very welcome to join these events

A very good way to find out if you would like to become a member is to join one of our meetings, without obligation as a guest of the club.

Potential members are encouraged to find out more about the club by speaking to existing members including our:

There is now a newly formed Ladies Probus club for women  about to retire, semi-retired or fully retired from a profession or business and who live locally. The main aim is to provide an inclusive arena where women can meet, chat, enjoy social events including talks, demonstrations, lunches and outings but most of all to meet together with the intention of having fun and leisure time together. The club will hold monthly meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month with additional outings as arranged.

Meetings are held at the Vineyard 10:00 for 10:30, coffee available to purchase as is lunch which needs to be pre booked with the Vineyards mentioning Ladies Probus when making the booking.
