The Angel Festival

With large banners hanging from the pillars, the very first Angel Festival takes place at St John the Baptist Church, Bishopsteignton, near Teignmouth from Saturday 14 December. All the banners are being made by local community groups and will feature angels bringing the good news of Christmas.
‘Angels are an important part of the Christmas story,’ said Revd Jane Frost, Team Vicar. ‘This event brings together community organisations, residents and church members to celebrate the message of good news that the angels bring.’
An free, angel-themed, drop-in family craft session takes place at 9.30-11.30am on Saturday 14 December. All children and adults are welcome. Seasonal refreshments available and those coming can take away what they make.
There’s also a special, informal, all-age service at 10.30am on Sunday 15 December focusing on angel stories.
Local residents are also invited to lend an angel that is special to them for the Festival.
The banners remain on display until Christmas.
