It was announced on Sunday that the Reverend Jane Frost has been appointed to the post of Associate Minister in the Totnes Team Ministry, based in Marldon. Jane is presently Team Vicar in the Haldon Team Ministry, residing in Bishopsteignton.
Jane earned her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Durham and later prepared for ordained ministry on the South West Ministry Training Course. Prior to ordination, Jane taught English and other subjects, mostly in Devon schools, in the last stage of her teaching career serving additionally as a school chaplain. Jane is already well known in the Totnes Team, where she served her initial curacy following her ordination in 2015.
Jane is married to Richard Frost, a writer and Licensed Lay Minister; they have two adult children. Subject to the completion of all legal formalities, the Bishop of Plymouth will license Jane to her new ministry on Monday evening, June 12th at a service in the parish church of St John the Baptist, Marldon at which all will be welcome.
Revd Jane writes: ‘Richard & I have hugely appreciated all that has brought us ‘life’ as part of this Team over the last 4 years. Thank you! It has become apparent to both of us that I need to re-frame the future of my ministry as continuing to work as a full time stipendiary priest is no longer possible. Into that context of exploring other avenues, the post I have accepted came. We feel it is the best ‘next step’ for us both individually and together. We will continue to be part of the Haldon Mission Community until the end of April & Archdeacon Andrew Beane is already working with Revd Carol to support the ministry here in a number of ways until a new appointment is made. You will remain in our prayers during this time of change.’
