Dawlish to Teignmouth Cycle Pedestrian Route

Project Overview: Delivery of shared-use cycling and walking path to link two coastal towns: Dawlish and Teignmouth.

This will provide a safe family-friendly cycling and walking route between Teignmouth and Dawlish and will also provide a link between the existing Exe Estuary Trail and the not yet built Teign Estuary Trail. The Exe Estuary Trail is a route of strategic importance within Devon and has led to a significant boost to local economy and leisure/commuting opportunities. The extension of this route through Dawlish and southwards to Teignmouth will enable a boost to local businesses located along the route, opportunities for establishment of new businesses, and leisure/commuting opportunities for residents within the Teignmouth and Dawlish areas. The path will facilitate and encourage sustainable travel, active leisure and associated health benefits.

• Aligning with local economic plans and involving the local community.
• Delivering economic benefits outside of the typical tourist season.
• Ensuring economic, social and environmental benefits of the project will be sustained.
