Bishopsteignton Village Show Review Results and Photos
Bishopsteignton Village Show 2018
The 2018 Bishopsteignton Village Show was blessed with good weather and good cheer as the 23rdyear got underway at Bishopsteignton Community Centre. Each year the first weekend in September sees the Community Centre filled with exhibits in the various categories including Fruit and Vegetables, Flowers, Floral Art, Domestic, Handicraft, Children’s and Photograpy.
Chairman, Roy Halsey, said “The gardeners this year had battled with snow and then hot, dry conditions but still managed to produce plenty of great exhibits. It’s always a delight to see the Community Centre filled with produce from the garden and made in people’s homes.”
The Show is open on both days and Roy added “Visitors seem to really enjoy looking around. Exhibitors and members of the public. Hopefully people get some ideas of other things that they could grown in their gardens as well.”
The prizes this year were given out by James Addicott from Addicott Electrics. Addicott Electrics have long been supporters of the Village Show for which Roy and the committee are extremely grateful.
Roy said “It was very nice to have James with us to give out the prizes as his company has been good enough to sponsor us for many years now. We so appreciate all the businesses, groups and individuals who support us each year. It proves what a community effort this really is. We have a list of our sponsors up in the Community Centre and also have a website which features them all.” The website, www.bishopsvillageshow.co.uk, also has an archive of results and photographs from previous years and is well worth a browse.
Chairman Roy, his wife Jackie, who is the Secretary and the small, but dedicated, committee who put on the Show, will now be taking a little break before meeting up again to review this year’s show and chat about plans for the future.
