Dinner marks end of successful year
Bishopteignton Probus Club members and their wives enjoyed a delicious three-course meal at the Old Walls vineyard in Bishopsteignton, celebrating Christmas and, despite Coronavirus, a successful year including excellent presentations by a variety of professional speakers throughout the year.
The lunch was organised by chairman Peter Hartley and his wife Linda, with forty guests enjoying the festive atmosphere and appreciating the excellent meals, including a choice of traditional Christmas turkey, beef, and a delicious vegetarian option, together with a selection of starters and desserts, coffee and After-Eight mints.
The club is for retired and semi-retired men from Bishopsteignton and nearby towns. The club meets fortnightly at the Community Centre, arriving from 10 a.m. onwards when members can chat and enjoy coffee and biscuits before the chairman opens the meeting at 10.30 a.m., after which the guest speaker will make a presentation which finishes by midday. Meals and trips are also organised for club members, but above all the club offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
We have a combination of well-established and new club members who welcome new members. For more information, please contact the honorary secretary John Tuddenham on 01626 870004 or [email protected]
