MEN’S PROBUS CLUB SUMMER LUNCH
Bishopsteignton Probus Club has an excellent programme of high-quality speakers and interesting topics. The club also organises lunches for club members and their wives/partners, including this year’s summer lunch at The Cockhaven Arms in Bishopsteignton (photo below) which was organised by Peter Hartley, who is standing to the left behind seated guests.
In addition to lunch at the Cockhaven Arms, members met fortnightly this summer for mid-morning social gatherings at the Ring of Bells, Bishopsteignton, for coffee, soft and alcoholic drinks. The club also organised a trip this summer for members and wives to Ugbrooke House for a guided tour.
Despite an increase in membership since the end of Covid, the club has space for and welcomes new club members. The Club’s programme of fortnightly presentations starts on Tuesday, 6th September. Meetings begin with coffee from 10 a.m at Bishopsteignton Community Centre, with presentations starting at 10.30 a.m. The programme includes “Attack on the World Trade Centre”, “Churchill – His early days”; “Amazing Bugatti Family”; “Thomas Telford – Colossus of Roads”; “Concorde – Reminiscences of a Fast Lady”; ”Driving Under London”.
Retired men and those approaching retirement are very welcome to join the club, perhaps attending initially as a guest to gain an insight into the friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
