Probus Club members share a superb buffet
Bishopsteignton Probus Club members and their wives and partners recently enjoyed a superb buffet lunch at the Humber Barn, Bishopsteignton, where the new chairman, Peter Hartley, and his wife Linda, had organised the event under Peter’s previous role as the club’s social secretary.
The venue proved to be an ideal post-Covid venue with the opportunity either to eat outside or inside the main venue which was well-ventilated. It was originally the farm’s lambing shed which has been converted to a very successful wedding venue and other catering events. However, it was the rural setting and a wonderful sunny day that ensured a highly successful day.
The Bishopsteignton Probus Club was formed fifty years ago and is open to men in Bishopsteignton and nearby, including Newton Abbot, Teignmouth and Dawlish. The club is for retired men and those approaching retirement. The club meets fortnightly during the period September to May at the Community Centre, arriving from 10. a.m. onwards with coffee, tea and biscuits available on arrival when members can chat informally in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The chairman starts the meeting at 10.30 a.m. and the guest speaker will finish before midday.
If interested in finding out more or if you wish to attend one or more meetings as a guest to see if you like the atmosphere and programme, please contact either the honorary secretary John Tuddenham on 01626 870004 (e-mail: [email protected] ) or the chairman Peter Hartley on 01626 684692 (e-mail: [email protected] )
