Publicity banner presented to Probus Club

IMG_6927_1-2.JPG

Baz Carpenter, immediate past chairman, has given a publicity banner to the Probus Club. It will be used at meetings to remind members of the various activities organised by the club. It will also be used as background in some of the future photos sent to the local paper. Photos on the banner include puffins which were included in a virtual tour of Lundy Island made and shown to club members by Simon Dell. The spitfire was part of Richard Gibby’s account of his involvement in the Battle of Britain “Memorial Flight”. Other photos include coach trips to the Tank Museum, Helicopter Museum and one of the Club’s Christmas Dinners.

The Probus Club was formed fifty years ago and is a club for men who have retired or will soon retire. The name Probus is a combination of the words “professional” and “business”, reflecting the wide range of careers followed before retirement by club members.

The attached photo shows former chairman Baz Carpenter, on left, presenting the banner to new chairman Peter Hartley.
