Successful meal ends a successful year
Bishopsteignton Probus Club celebrated Christmas and a highly successful year when club members and their wives enjoyed a delicious three course lunch at the Cockhaven Arms in Bishopsteignton. The seating arrangement, Christmas decorations, exceptionally good quality food, drink and service created a wonderful environment for members to socialise, relax and reflect on a highly successful year in which the club members had enjoyed many excellent presentations by a variety of professional speakers, a programme of social gatherings in the summer, trips and meals.
The photo shows (standing) the club chairman (left) David Carpenter-Clawson and the vice chairman Ian Gray, chatting to members and guests. Ian organised the event with help from his wife Dawn. The club treasurer Tony Corlett and press officer Dr Nigel Darby and their wives suffered from a virus affecting several people in the village, so did not attend but the supportive staff at the Cockhaven Arms looked after them by providing takeaway Christmas meals which were much appreciated !
The Probus Club is for men who have retired or are nearing retirement and live in Bishopsteignton and nearby towns. Anybody interested in enquiring about membership is welcome to contact the chairman David Carpenter-Clawson on 07850-222201 or club secretary John Tuddenham on 01626 870004.
