The men’s Probus Club has enjoyed a busy summer
Bishopsteignton Probus Club members have enjoyed summer lunch at the Cockhaven Arms, a guided tour of Ugbrooke House and fortnightly social gatherings at the Ring of Bells. They have now moved onto the autumn/winter programme of fortnightly speakers at the Community Hall on Tuesdays which start with coffee from 10.00 onwards. There is a wide range of topics, including “Attack on the World Trade Centre”, “Churchill – His early days”; “Amazing Bugatti Family”; “Thomas Telford – Colossus of Roads”; “Concorde – Reminiscences of a Fast Lady”; ”Driving Under London”.
Despite an increase in membership since the end of Covid, the club has space for and welcomes new club members. Retired men and those approaching retirement are very welcome to join the club, perhaps attending initially as a guest to gain an insight into the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. To find out more, please contact the Honorary Secretary, John Tuddenham (seated in middle below) on 01626 – 870004 or the Chairman, David Carpenter-Clawson (standing to right below) on 07850-222201.
